description

This project is committed to developing regulatory practices, standards and guidelines that reflect the real needs and insights of the European Space Sector. We believe that effective regulation must be built collaboratively, drawing on the expertise and experience of all those who operate within, contribute to, or are affected by the spaceport ecosystem.

We therefore warmly invite all stakeholders – including spaceport operators, launch service providers, satellite operators, equipment manufacturers, technology developers, regulatory authorities, research institutions, academic experts, industry associations, investors, policy makers and other interested parties – to share their views, concerns, and recommendations.

All feedback received will be carefully reviewed by our multidisciplinary team. We are committed to transparency and will report on the proportion of stakeholder input that has been addressed or incorporated in our final deliverables. To ensure that your input is properly captured, considered, and integrated into our work, we encourage mainly contributions around the following key topics:

  • Sustainability of Operations and Materials – Best practices for environmentally responsible spaceport operations, recyclable materials, waste reduction, and sustainable resource management;
  • Interoperability among Spaceports and Vehicles – Standardization of interfaces, equipment compatibility, and operational protocols that facilitate seamless operations across multiple European spaceports;
  • Safety and Security – Standards, procedures, and technologies to ensure the safety of objects, infrastructure, equipment, involved and uninvolved personnel, and surrounding communities;
  • Facilitated Access to Spaceports – Regulatory mechanisms to streamline licensing, reduce administrative burden, and enable faster market entry and operations, particularly for SMEs and new entrants;
  • Sovereignty, Autonomy and International Cooperation – How regulatory frameworks can enhance European autonomy in access to Space while fostering international collaboration;

This feedback channel will remain open throughout the entire duration of the project. We encourage you to engage with us at any stage, whether you have early observations, responses to our published materials, or reflections following our events and webinars. Your continued engagement will help ensure that our regulatory proposal truly serves the needs of the European Space Sector.

Together, we can build a regulatory framework that supports safe, sustainable, interoperable, and competitive European spaceports.
