Objectives
The main goal of the Project is to provide standardized regulatory practices for spaceport and launch operations, to enhance the European Union’s autonomy in access to Space and increase competitiveness of the EU Space Sector. This requires:
Mapping Best Practices
Mapping, listing, reviewing and assessing, in a five-month study, the best practices, standards and guidelines for launch operations from European spaceports, taking into account experiences from worldwide existing spaceports.
Regulatory Pathways
Identifying at least three different pathways for spaceport regulations that enable and support safe and sustainable launch operations and interoperability of spaceports in a short to medium horizon.
Common Guidelines
Proposing common regulatory practices and guidelines for European Spaceports and an evaluation of their impact on launch operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engaging at least two hundred European stakeholders for the development of safety and interoperability standards and guidelines.
